It is not intended to be a health guide or substitute for modern day medicine but rather a quick reference point for those wanting to find out some of the metaphysical information on and pertaining to the stones that Wristocracy sells.

I recommend you always do your own extensive research if you wish to find out more. I am by no means an expert in this area and rely upon the accuracy of the sources I have used.

Stones in Alphabetical Order

African Turquoise is sometimes known as the ‘Stone of Evolution. It said to bring about positive change and transformation that can help take events that once hurt you, evolving them into positive life lessons that you will grow from. African Turquoise is also said to help ease mood swings; soothing feelings of emotional upset, creating a more optimistic attitude towards life. This stone teaches you how to go with the flow, embracing life and all that comes with it. Despite its name African Turquoise is actually a Jasper named after Turquoise because of its similar colouring.

Agate Is said to enhance confidence, courage and strength. Often thought of as a cognitive stone. Agate is a populous stone and I stock many varieties including White Agate, Blue Lace Agate, Botswana Agate, Crazy Lace, Dzi Agate, Moss Agate, Orange Agate, Tree Agate and White Agate.

Amazonite is associated with the zodiac sign of the Virgo. It is the birthstone for people born between the end of August and September. Amazonite is also considered beneficial for those born under Leo, Aries, or Scorpio. It is said to be particularly helpful in letting go of stress and negativity, soothing the spirit and calming the soul, filtering stress, bringing hope, courage and bravery to the wearer. Connected with both the heart and the throat chakras, Amazonite is said to help balance energies and bring about a clarity of mind. Varieties include Black & Gold, Chinese, Mozambique, Peru, Russian Amazonite is said to be a balancing stone. Often used in spiritual healing.

Amber is fossilised tree resin that has been valued and worn since Neolithic times. Traditionally it was worn as a talisman for courage and self-confidence and was considered to bring good luck for warriors on the battlefield. In some cultures it represented the renewal of marital vows or a seal of a promise. Elders would also often wear it as a token of wisdom and endurance. In Chinese culture Amber was sometimes linked to tigers as they believed the tiger’s soul transformed into Amber. For obvious reasons it has strong connections with the earth and is said to have grounding properties. Amber is often associated with warmth, healing, and protection and is believed to promote a sense of well-being, balance, and harmony.Amber is associated with the zodiac signs of Leo and Aquarius. Amethyst is one of the birthstones for February and the zodiac signs of Aquarius and Pisces. Amethyst is a "Stone of Wisdom." It has been said that it promotes higher levels of consciousness through dreams, intuition, and wisdom helping with self knowledge, peace and spiritual insight. It is associated with both Air and Water elements. Amethyst has long been thought to be a stone that helps with addictions and sobriety. Evidence of this belief goes back to the Ancient Greeks. It is a powerful and protective stone that is believed to absorb negative energy, relieve stress and anxiety and bring about balance. Varieties include Cape Amethyst (also sometimes called Dog Tooth Amethyst or even Chevron Amethyst), Dark Amethyst, Green Amethyst, Lace Amethyst, Lavender Amethyst

Angelite is known as a stone of love, compassion, healing, awareness and protection. It is said to enhance astrological understanding and heighten perception. Angelite is a stone of peace. It is associated with the zodiac sign of Aquarius and the throat and third eye chakras. I stock both green and blue Angelite.

Apatite is a motivational stone that promotes independence and good communication. It is thought to help clear away confusion and negativity and may also help with concentration, insight, improved memory and creative problem solving. Apatite is also said to support passion, bring balance to the physical, mental and spirtual body. Apatite is linked to the zodiac Gemini. Varieties include Pale Blue, Pacific Blue, Green and Yellow.

Aquamarine is one of the birthstones for March, Pisces and Aquarius. It is also connected to Gemini and Libra. It represents happiness, hope and everlasting youth and has long been considered beneficial for travellers providing insight, wisdom and truth whilst enhancing perception, responsibility and tolerance It is also said to reduce stress, enhance meditation and help with strength, serenity, friendship and faithfulness.

Aventurine is associated with the zodiac signs of Virgo and Taurus. It is most widely known in green but also comes in blue, orange, peach, purple , rose pink and yellow. I have all but yellow.

Green Aventurine is a particularly lucky stone said to bring prosperity and good fortune, new opportunities, good health and vitality, personal growth, peace of mind and help increase creativity.

Blue Aventurine is said to calm and balance the emotions. It is an extremely positive stone which can promote tranquillity.

Orange Aventurine is said to bring happiness, inspire creativity and enhance intellect. It is said to clear blockages. Like the other Aventurines it is said to bring luck.

Peach and Rose Pink Aventurine are said to help with worry, anxiety and stress. It brings, happiness and calm and boosts creativity.

Purple Aventurine is said to help with emotional healing and balance. It may assist with life purpose, soothing anxiety and stress, bringing peace.

Azurite is sometimes called the ‘Stone of Heaven’ for its apparent ability to open the connection between mind and body. It is said to help those suffering from anxiety, stress, worry, grief and sadness. In mythology it has been associated with both the Greek goddess Athena (goddess of war and wisdom) and Egyptian goddess Isis (Goddess of life, healing and insight). It is connected with the third eye Chakra and the zodiac signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Sagittarius and Capricorn,

Beryl is the collective term used for a “family of stones” that includes Aquamarine, Morganite & Heliodor - all varieties of Beryl. Collectively, Beryl is one of the birthstones for Scorpio is associated with crown chakra and is said to amongst other things keep demons at bay. It is said to promote happiness and marital love, increase sincerity, cure laziness, protect travellers from danger, and maintain youthfulness. Blue Lace Agate (like other Agates) is said to be a stone of communication. It is said to be helpful when trying to articulate your thoughts and ideas. It is also said to bring peace, calm and balance to the wearer and is often used to alleviate anxiety. It is linked to the months of May, June, September, Gemini and Pisces and the throat chakra. It is a gentle and supportive stone said to symbolise purity, sometimes given to brides as a gift symbolising their ‘something blue’.

Blue Opal is a quite a rare stone found in the Andes in Peru. Its beautiful Caribbean blue hues radiate a soft and soothing energy that is said to help release tension from the body and mind. Blue Opal is said to clear negative energy and blockages in the chakras allowing better communication and allowing ideas to flow more freely. It is associated with the zodiac signs of Libra, Scorpio, Cancer and Aquarius.

Botswana Agate is a stone of comfort, that is said to offer reassurance when overcoming depression or loss. Botswana Agate is a Sardonyx, with contrasting brownish red, grey and white layers. Sardonyx stones are said to be protective and give strength. They are said to encourage courage, happiness and good communication. Whilst not an official birthstone Botswana Agate is particularly linked to Gemini and Scorpio and the sacral chakra.

Bronzite is a stone with a strong masculine energy. Bronzite may be beneficial for encouraging harmony and self-assertion as well as assisting with stress and chronic exhaustion. It is a grounding stone that is linked to the zodiac sign of Leo and is said to activate and harmonise all chakras.

Calcite is linked to those born under the Cancer, Leo and Aquarius zodiac signs. Calcite is thought to be an amplifier and cleanser of energy. It is said to connect emotions and intellect making it useful in mental healing. It is a crystal for love and relationships and may help in reconciliations by reducing discourse. It is said to be an excellent protective stone that strengthens intuition and wisdom. Calcite comes in many colours and varieties and each are said to have their own metaphysical ‘healing’ properties which are in addition to the above. Blue Calcite is linked with the zodiac sign of Cancer, the third eye and throat chakras and the air element. Blue Calcite is said to beneficial for study, motivation, laziness and emotional stress.

Blue Lemurian Aquatine Calcite linked with the third eye chakra Blue Lemurian Calcite is said to be useful spiritually, particularly in past life exploration and intuition.

Pink Mangano Calcite is linked to the zodiac sign of Libra and the higher heart chakra. It is said to have a connection to the angelic realm. It is a stone of love and forgiveness and is said to help release fear and grief and help with self acceptance, trauma, anxiety, nightmares, study motivation, laziness and emotional stress.

Orange Calcite is linked to the zodiac sign Cancer and the base and sacral chakras. Orange Calcite is said to be an energising stone, that helps lessen fear and overcome depression. Orange Calcite is also said to be a cleansing stone that helps balance emotions, so it is said to help with motivation, laziness and emotional stress.

Yellow Calcite is said to cleanse and energise. Linked with the solar plexus chakra it may aid with emotional healing, reducing stress and anxiety. It an enhance meditation, stimulating the higher mind. It is also said the help motivate and revitalise and may be useful with study and laziness.

Carnelian is one of the birthstones for July and also closely associated with August and September. Carnelian is said to attract warmth, vitality, creativity, prosperity, abundance and fertility . Carnelian may also help with self-esteem, motivation, love and courage. Some consider Carnelian a stone of good luck. Carnelian may calm anger and repel negativity. It is also sometimes thought to boost fertility and stimulate sexuality.

Cherry Quartz is a symbol of vitality and courage. Believed to heal emotional wounds, foster self-love, and kindle a zest for life it is also thought to enhance intention, encourage clarity of thought, and dissipate fears, offering comforting energy to those who keep it close. Cherry Quartz is said to encourage the wearer to embrace every moment with enthusiasm and bravery. It is also said to be a balancing stone that is beneficial for those suffering from anxiety help balance. Cherry Quartz linked to the zodiac sign Aquarius and the heart chakra. Cherry Quartz does not occur naturally and is a manmade stone.

Chrome Diopside i s said to be a stone of reconciliation. Linked to the heart chakra and the zodiac sign of Virgo, Pisces and Gemini - it evokes forgiveness. It may help settle feelings of anger and aggression particularly towards past transgressions. It may help those struggling with grief. Diopside comes from the Greek language and means two views. It is said to evoke feelings of love and a connection to the earth. It provides a sense of empowerment and helps one to recognise the strength within oneself. It is said to stimulate intellect and promote emotional well being so may be useful to those pursuing academic and creative studies and pursuits.

Chrysocolla is said to be useful in cleansing the aura. It calms, purifies and re-energises the chakras by drawing out guilt, healing heartache and increasing the capacity to love. It may encourage personal power through increased self-awareness and inner balance. It is a stone of confidence and motivation that is linked to the zodiac signs Gemini, Virgo and Taurus and all chakras. It may be useful for those with phobias and may facilitate letting them go, drawing out the negative patterns and destructive behaviours.

Chrysoprase is one of the birthstones for the month of May and the zodiac sign of Taurus. It is said to be a catalyst for joy, optimism and luck. It is linked with both the heart and sacral chakras and is said to help with mental dexterity, co-dependency, claustrophobia and even nightmares. Sometimes considered beneficial for those suffering from anxiety, depression and for those suffering from infertility.

Citrine is one of the birthstones for November. It is said to represent a healthy mind and body, happiness and success. Metaphysically, Citrine promises joy and the release of negativity, fears and destructive tendencies. It is said to help with depression, inspire creativity and self expression and carry the energy of the sun. It is associated with the solar plexus chakra and wealth and abundance. Sometimes referred to as the “Success Stone" or "money stone”.

Coral I only use repurposed or fossilised coral and urge my customers to do the same. Harvesting coral from reefs is now illegal in most parts of the world due to the damage caused to delicate ecosystems in the oceans. For this reason, coral beads are now made of a farmed sea bamboo coral, however there is still an illegal trade of protected coral and for this and other personal and ethical reasons I elect not to purchase new for fear that I contribute to problem. From time to time this may apply to certain shell beads also.

Crystal Quartz is associated with all zodiac months and is said to harmonise all chakras. It represents energy, clarity, balance and inspiration. Universally known and revered by many cultures as a ’Master Healer’, Crystal Clear Quartz is a powerful stone that is said to regulate energy by absorbing, storing, amplifying and releasing it when needed. In ancient times, many believed that Clear Quartz stones were alive and took a breath every 100 years; incarnations of the Divine so to speak. The story went that they would communicate only when an individual was open and ready to receive. Wearing, carrying or meditating with a Clear Quartz crystal is said to open the mind and heart to higher guidance. Clear Quartz is also sometimes also known as the ‘Light Bringer’, and is said to help with balance and memory.

Diamond - Traditional birthstone of April and Aries. Enlightenment, clarity of mind, imagination and commitment. I do not have diamonds .

Dragons Blood Jade is sometimes called Pilbara Prase or Dragon Stone. The word Dragon is used when there are reddish deposits in the stone. It is said to attract prosperity and good luck. In addition this stone is said to be a stone of courage, strength and vitality and is said to be an excellent mood booster and beneficial for creatives as it the energies may help remove blocks. It is said to be protective and grounding stone.

Dzi Agate is said to bring good luck, increase wisdom and prosperity and help protect you from negative energy and curses. The names is derived from the Tibetan language and means magnificence and/or splendour. The Dzi Agate beads I use are reproductions.

Emerald is the traditional birthstone for May, and the zodiac signs of Cancer and Taurus. The emerald is closely associated with Spring, beauty and rebirth. It represents spiritual awareness, protection, love and wisdom. Emerald is a stone of loyalty. It is believed to grant the owner foresight, good fortune, and youth. Emerald is a member of the Beryl group of stones and has been worn as talisman for good luck and protection since Ancient times. In Ancient Egypt, emeralds were believed to be a source of eternal life. In ancient Greece they were said to be the gemstone of the goddess Aphrodite, symbolising love and hope. In Ancient Rome, they were worn as a symbol of wealth, power and royalty. Spiritually, emeralds represent balance, harmony, renewal, and growth. They are also closely associated with life, fertility, and abundance. Metaphysically, Emeralds are said to have a soothing effect on the mind and body, inspiring relaxation and feelings of safety. Also a Talisman stone for Gemini. Emerald belongs to the Beryl family of stones.

Ethiopian Opal is said to heal, protect and purify. It’s believed to expose your hidden thoughts, feelings and desires allowing self reflection and the tools to deal with whatever it uncovers. Opal is said to bring light and uplift your spirit. Opal may also magnify emotions, so it is apparently best when worn alongside other stones that bring positive energy.

Feldspar is a collective term for the largest family of rocks including Amazonite, Labradorite, Moonstone and Sunstone as well as many others. It is said to be a catalyst for finding unconventional and exciting ways to achieve goals by stimulating creative thinking. Feldspar is said to increase your self-respect, self-esteem and self-awareness. As it encompasses a wide range of stones it is associated with many zodiac signs and is believed to help to align our chakras. Feldspar is said to increase your self-respect, self-esteem and self-awareness.

Fire Opal is linked to the zodiac signs of Cancer, Leo, Libra and Sagittarius and the sakral chakra. In additional to other Opal properties Fire Opal is said to improve your personal power. It is said to be useful for those going through menopause and is a catalyst for revitalising and awakening your inner fire.

Fluorite is a stone of mental and physical regeneration. It is a calming stone that is believed to cleanse and purify the body and balance energy, increasing the ability to concentrate and helping one to understand and maintain relationships. This beautiful gemmy stone is said to bring about order in our mind and help us make decisions with clarity, so may be useful when having to think on our feet and when making important decisions. Fluorite comes in many colours including blue, green, pink, yellow and purple and each is thought to be beneficial for different things.

Fuchsite (Green Muscovite/Chrome Mica) - Stimulates awareness of a higher self, whilst looking back to past lives to lessons learnt. Fuchsite is an amplifier of energies. It is said to help with co-dependency, resilience, self-worth, anger, insecurity and self doubt. It is aligned with the zodiac sign of Aquarius.

Garnet is the traditional birthstone for January and is associated with Capricorn and Aquarius zodiacs and the heart and base (root) chakras.It is named after the Latin word granatium (pomegranate), as its colour was thought to resemble the deep red of the seeds. Historically, the recorded use of Garnet dates back to the Bronze Age where it was thought to ward off evil, promote good health and increase inner strength. Its rich red considered a symbol of love and life. It’s been used to drive off demons, warn the holder of impending danger, and whilst it was considered good luck to possess one it was said to attract bad luck should you steal it! Metaphysically, Garnets are thought to be an amplifier of bravery, kindness, and creativity as well as a catalyst for attracting love, boosting libido and increasing wealth. There are several varieties of Garnet and I stock a few of them including Green, Malay (pinky red), Orange (Hessonite), Brown (Spessartine), Purple (purple toned red) and Red.

Goldstone (sometimes also called Sandstone) is not naturally occurring and is manmade from sand. Sometimes thought to symbolise ambition, Goldstone is thought to help in achieving goals. Brown Goldstone contains copper and as such is believed to carry many of the metaphysical properties of that meta including emitting positivity, deflecting negative energy and revitalising energy. Goldstone is also thought to carry the power of creativity and self belief, encouraging a positive outlook and attitude. Goldstone is also said to helpful in reducing tension in situations. Blue Goldstone is believed to have healing energy. It is said to help with learning and self-acceptance and an ideal companion stone for empaths as it wards off negative energy. Green Goldstone like many other green stones is said to attract prosperity and abundance. It is said to help calm emotions and protect by deflecting negativity. Goldstone is associated with the zodiac sign of Sagittarius and several chakras including heart, root(base), solar plexus and sometimes crown.

Green Garnet symbolises growth and rejuvenation. It is associated with the heart chakra and the zodiac signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. Green Garnet is said to possess freeing regenerative energies. It may support and help give strength during difficult times.

Green Opal is said to be a stone of hope that may help those suffering from anxiety bringing a sense of calm. It is replaces these feeling of tension, worry and depression with joy. Carrying or having a green opal in your jewellery is said to bring good fortune to your relationships and help you to feel grounded and in touch with your feelings. Metaphysically it possesses a cleansing energy that supports health, prosperity, and abundance. It is associated with female health, detoxification and balance and is associated with the heart chakra and the zodiac signs Aires and Sagittarius.

Heliodor is associated with Gemini and Leo. Heliodor is said to energise and enhance spiritual growth and intuition. Also helpful for meditation, bring clarity and helping you make decisions based on knowledge and wisdom rather than emotion. This stone is often used to help with mental clarity and concentration.

Hemimorphite is thought to be a stone of empathy, promoting compassion and spiritual growth. It is said to help with the tempering and communication of feelings and emotion. It opens the mind to self development and social awareness whilst supporting the quest to realise your full potential. Associated with the zodiac sign Libra.

Hematite is associated with the zodiac signs of Aries and Aquarius and the base chakra. It is protective stone that is grounding and balancing. It is said to stimulate the mind, increase self confidence and esteem. It may be beneficial for those who lack will power and also those who find it hard to find their voice. Hematite is sometimes used to assist those with addiction and compulsions and those that are prone to emotional outbursts.

Hessonite is a member of the Garnet family. This burnt orange garnet is also sometimes called Cinnamon Stone and is found in various locations including the Americas, India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar and Tanzania. Hessonite is said to have strong spiritual value for people regarded as wise. It is said to stay the lips from people who are gossiping and is said to promote success, wealth and longevity.

Howlite in its natural state is white in colour with a grey marbling. It was one of the first stones I learned about and is said to be good for those suffering from anxiety or stress. It is a particularly good sleep stone and it is said to do this by quieting a racing mind. It may help to improve memory and heighten your desire for knowledge. Howlite is linked to the zodiac Virgo and the crown chakra. Due to its significantly porous nature Howlite is often dyed bright colours (like Magnesite) and masqueraded by sellers as (the more expensive) Turquoise. If this is the case it will/should be sold under the name Turquoise Howlite - but sadly in many cases it is not - whether this is because the seller does so knowingly or unknowingly depends on the situation. The relatively lower price should be an indicator of whether it is genuine Turquoise or the significantly cheaper Magnesite and Howlite. I sell Howlite in its natural white colour only (all be it polished).

Iolite (Cordierite) is said to be a stone of vision. Associated with the third eye chakra and thought to align all chakras - this sometime blue and some times purple stone is believed to enhance imagination and intuition. It is linked to the zodiac signs of Taurus, Libra and Sagittarius and may be beneficial for those consume excessive alcohol as it is said to help with addictions and detoxification. Also considered a stone of inner knowing, meditation and dreams.

Jade is a stone thought to be sacred in many cultures. Historically it was thought to powerful in many ways including the belief that it could influence the weather, protect children and provide vitality to the deceased. Jade is thought to encourage calmness, peace, and serenity and elevate vitality and energy levels. Associated with Aries, Taurus, Gemini and Libra zodiac signs, Jade is also is believed to promote longevity, self sufficiency and fertility. Jade is considered a lucky stone in many cultures. Jade comes in different varieties. I carry a few of these including African Jade, Burmese Jade, Nephrite Jade, Olive Jade and Yellow Jade.

Jasper is called the “Supreme Nurturer” amongst stones. It sustains and supports in times of stress, and brings about tranquility and a feeling of wholeness. Used in healing, it said to unify all aspects of your life and absorb negative energy. I carry A LOT of Jasper including African Turquoise , Chilli Jasper, Dalmation Jasper, Dragons Blood Jasper Mexican Sky Eye Jasper, Mookaite, Red Jasper, Sesame Jasper, Viper Jasper, Zebra Jasper and much more. Sometimes the names given by sellers will differ and there is more information of some than others. To provide a detailed listing of each one would take me more time than I have, so I have noted a few properties of some of the more popular ones. I highly recommend doing your own reading about these if you are interested in finding out more.

Brecciated Jasper is believed by many to bring balance and relaxation. It promotes compassion, protection and self-discipline. I have both red and green brecciated Jasper

Bumble Bee Jasper is found in the volcanoes of Australia and Indonesia, Bumble Bee Jasper is considered to be the natural birthstone of anyone born during the beginning of summer and the yellow colour brings with it the promise of great first beginnings and high optimism. The crystal’s fire energy is linked to abundance and both the Sacral and Solar Plexus chakras. It is said to help you welcome new opportunities, accepting change new surroundings and increasing self-esteem whilst making decisions without relying on emotions. It is said to help you keep a positive disposition and upbeat during the daily stresses of life.

Kambaba Jasper

Linked to Libra, Scorpio and Pisces, Kambaba Jasper is a fossil stone that is over three billion years old. It is a protection stone that is believed to be helpful for opening blockages and encouraging new and better behaviours. It encourages optimum wellbeing, strength, endurance, stability and purpose. Linked to the base and heart chakras.

Leopard Skin Jasper is linked to the zodiac sign of Virgo. It is said to be helpful for those who suffer from fear, insecurity and guilt.

Ocean Jasper is a combination stone that is sometimes called the ‘Atlantis stone’ as it is believed by some to be linked to the mythical ancient city. Because it is a combination stone it is said to have the properties of Agate, Quartz and Jasper as well as its own specific properties. It is purported to be good for resolving hidden emotional issues and trauma. It is a stone of renewal, that is said to help with stress, cleansing and detoxifying the mind and body. It is believed to be good for any sort of analytical thinking, clearing the mind and allowing better concentration and focus. Linked to the zodiac of Leo.

Picture Jasper is a grounding stone that is said to be both protective and nurturing. Its direct connection to the earth brings comfort and helps to alleviate fear and cultivate harmony.

Poppy Jasper is a grounding stone that aligns the chakras. It brings courage, strength and willpower and is said to soothe heartache and bring about emotional balance, while promoting peace and happiness.

Red Creek Jasper is believed by many to bring balance and relaxation. It promotes compassion, protection and self-discipline.

Kunzite is said to be a stone of love that helps with tolerance, humility, compassion and self expression. It helps uncover and clear forgotten ‘baggage’ opening and connecting the heart with the mind, encouraging communion between the two and allowing you to move forward. It is said to help heal heartbreak and enable a better experience and reciprocation of love. Kunzite is connected with the months of September, October, November, and the zodiac signs of Leo, Scorpio and Taurus Kunzite comes in various shades including clear, lilac, blue, green and yellow. I carry the lilac variety mostly which is connected to intellect, intuition and inspiration as well as the generic properties of all Kunzite.

Labradorite is a stone that exhibits flashes of colourful iridescence. It is a stone of transformation that is thought to heal and support good mental health, offering the wearer balance, protection and strong intuition. Labradorite is said to be a catalyst for supporting good mental health, delivering a feeling of inner peace and tranquility. It is known as a protection stone that shields the wearer from negative energies and is useful through times of transition. Despite its name - Rainbow Moonstone is actually white Labradorite. Connected to Leo, Scorpio and Sagittarius zodiac signs, and the third eye and crown chakras.

Lapis Lazuli - Valued for thousands of years Lapis was a favourite of the Ancient Egyptians where it is was believed to have links to immortality and the gods. Lapis is a protective stone that is said to be the catalyst for better objectivity and clarity of mind leading to a better self-awareness. It is said to help with self-expression, anxiety and hormonal and menopause issues. Linked with Sagittarius, the throat, third eye and crown chakras.

Larimar (Pectolite) is one of the rarest stones I hold in stock. It is found only in a mountainous region of the Dominican Republic. It is sometimes called the Atlantis Stone because of its ocean-like qualities. It is a serene crystal that enlightens, harmonises and heals, promoting relaxation and calm. It helps dissolve emotional barriers and release stress. It is said to stimulate heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras. It is connected with water, the element that rules our emotions and helps with communication. It is said to draw in your soulmate. It also represents peace and clarity, radiating healing and loving energy. Because Larimar is found exclusively in the Dominican Republic it is quite an expensive and sought after stone. It is associated with the zodiac sign of Leo.

Lava Stone is a grounding stone that strengthens one's connection to Mother Earth. It gives us strength and courage, allowing us stability through times of change. It provides guidance and understanding in situations where we may need to "bounce back". A calming stone, it is very useful in dissipating anger.

Lavikite (Black Moonstone) is a grounding stone that is said to calm the mind and dispel negative energies. It is also said to increase intellect, stimulate creativity and sharpen concentration. Look closely and you will find little flashes of light just like in other moonstones. (Also see Moonstone)

Lemon Chrysoprase is a stone associated with the zodiac sign of Taurus and the heart and sacral chakras. It is a gentle stone of love and compassion and it helps draw out our inner wisdom. It is sometimes said that it offers comfort to those suffering from addiction or depression.

Lepidolite is a stone of transition assisting the release and reorganisation of old behavioural and psychological patterns and gently nudges change. It brings deep emotional healing, soothing and helps reduce stress and depression, dissipating negativity. It is perhaps one of the most popular stones for Anxiety along with (Blue Lace Agate)

Magnesite is connected to Aries and the third eye and heart chakras. It is a stone said to help with emotional stress, intolerance and irritability. in its natural state is cream in colour, however due to its porous nature it is often dyed bright colours along with Howlite and masqueraded by sellers as the more expensive Turquoise. If this is the case it will be sold under the name Turquoise Magnesite/Howlite - but sadly in many cases it is not - whether this is because the seller does so knowingly or unknowingly. The relatively lower price should be an indicator of whether it is genuine Turquoise or the significantly cheaper dyed stones. Dyed or undyed it is a lovely stone and should not be overlooked and it is one of the dyed stones I still keep and use. In my shop it will always be clearly marked as a Magnesite or Turquoise Magnesite and a dyed stone. It is lovely and remains colour fast for years.

Malachite is a stone of transformation. It is believed to clear and activate the chakras and open the heart to unconditional love. It is a stone that may help the wearer to overcome shyness and inhibitions and encourage risk-taking and change by breaking unwanted ties. It allow us to take responsibility for our thoughts, actions and feelings and is said to absorb negative energy and protect against the ‘evil eye’. It is connected to female reproductive organs, the zodiac signs of Scorpio and Capricorn and the heart, base and sacral chakras.

Moonstone is one of the birthstones for June. It is connected to the zodiac signs Cancer, Libra and Scorpio. It is a stone of new beginnings, that can help calm and soothe anxiety and through change (particularly children). It is said to help grow your inner strength and make you more intuitive. It is said to balances the gender energies and pacify aggression. Varieties include Black (Lavikite see above), Grey, Peach, Rainbow (blue flash/white labradorite) and White moonstone (white flash).

Morganite (Pink Beryl, Pink Aquamarine) is linked with the month of June and the zodiac signs Pisces, Taurus, Cancer and Libra. It is said to be a stone of innocence, compassion and sweetness that is beneficial for change and is strongly linked to romance, love and healing.May be beneficial for those suffering from stress. Linked to the heart chakra.

Moss Agate is often linked to the zodiac sign of Virgo and said to be a stone of new beginnings. Believed to refresh the soul and enable the wearer to see beauty in all that they behold, bringing a sense of tranquility and emotional balance. Moss Agate is said to reduce sensitivity to weather, attract abundance in wealth and improve self-esteem. It is also believed to help develop strength, the ability to get along with others, help promote self-expression and good communication and balance the emotions, releasing fear and stress. Furthermore it encourages trust and hope. Moss Agate was named because of its appearance; the greenish filaments present in the semi transparent stone that resemble a creeping moss. Sometimes regarded as a stone of good luck it is often associated with gardens and nature and is also supposed to help with budding friendships!

Nephrite Jade is said to be a protective stone, protecting the wearer from harm. Jade has long been a talisman of good luck that attracts friendship and helps to release negative thoughts and soothes the mind.

Obsidian is a protection stone that is said to shield negative energies and help with decision making and grief. It helps us understand and face our fears. It is associated with the zodiac sign of Sagittarius. There are many varieties, only some of which I hold. I hold Black, Ice, Golden Sheen, Rainbow, Silver Sheen, Snowflake. Golden Obsidian is linked with the third chakra (Solar Plexus) and is said to help clear negative blocks from your past, enabling you to clarify your motivations. It is a creative and inspiring stone that helps with empowerment, purification and purpose.

Opal is one of the birthstones for October and linked with the zodiac signs of Pisces, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio and all different chakras (depending on the colour), Opal is linked to love and self worth and also passion and desire. It is said to enhance imagination and beauty. In various cultures Opal means different things and as there are many different kinds of opal these vary greatly. I hold Blue, Ethiopian, Fire (Mexican), Green, Pink, White and Yellow opals.

Opalite is said to improve communication on all levels. It is also said to help with transitions It is associated with the zodiac sign of Cancer. Whilst natural Opalite exists (green or purple colour), the Opalite I carry is manmade and available in two colours white and pink. Opalite was first manufactured in Venice during the 16th Century as a way of replicating natural Opal.

Orange Agate is associated with the zodiac signs Gemini, Virgo and Aries. It’s said to be beneficial for healing inner anger and dispelling negativity and helps with fostering love, self confidence and inner strength.

Pearls have been popular for centuries. They are said to be linked with femininity and your inner goddess. They are also associate with calming stress and restoring balance. Connected with Cancer and Gemini zodiac signs. I only use repurposed vintage pearls, crystal pearls (manmade) or fresh water pearls. Pearls are one of the birthstones for February and also June.

Peridot is one of the birthstones for August. It is connected to the zodiac sign of Leo and said to represent strength, compassion, spirituality and expression. Peridot is said to help dispel negativity and help in the releasing of emotional tension. Linked with the Heart chakra.

Peru Turquoise is in fact a Chrysocolla. It was given the name ( Turquoise ) because of its blue-green hues, that were similar to Turquoise in appearance. Chrysocolla is said to be a healing and calming stone and some even use it to attract love. Chrysocolla calms, cleanses and re-energises the chakras. It draws out guilt, heals heartache and increases the capacity to love. It also encourages self-awareness and inner balance.

Phosphosiderite is linked with the zodiac signs of Taurus, Cancer and Aries. It is an awakening stone that is said to possess a wonderful energy that helps with relationships, communication, stress and balance. It is said to bolster self-confidence and enthusiasm, making you feel younger and more able to take on new opportunities. Linked with the third eye chakra and earth and water elements.

Pietersite is linked with the zodiac sign of Leo. It is said to hold the “keys to heaven” and enable you to “walk your truth.” Whilst Pietersite is mostly comprised of blues and browns I have held Pietersite in other colours as well. Pietersite is said to benefit those suffering from exhaustion, depression and addiction. It is said to heighten awareness, balance and bravery and bring peace and relief.

Pink Opal is a compassionate and nurturing stone. Its gentle vibration and soothes and encourages peace and tranquility. It helps with stress, worry and anxiety, while encouraging us to remain calm and centred as we go through the good and the bad times. It is connected to personal growth. Linked with the heart chakra and the zodiac sign of Libra.

Prehnite : Associated with the zodiac signs of Libra and Capricorn, Prehnite is considered a powerful balancing stone that is beneficial for worry and anxiety. It is thought to enhance and intuition allowing you to gain clarity on your life and purpose. It is a stone of nature, peace, calm, love and protection. Associated with the heart and solar plexus chakras.

Pyrite (sometimes known as Fools Gold) is said to symbolise the sun. Its name comes from Greek meaning Fire stone - because it was believed fire was at its core. Purported to be a shielding stone it is said to stave off negative energy and give strength and a masculine energy to those who need it. Is also beneficial for those suffering from fatigue, feelings of inadequacy and memory. It is associated with the zodiac sign of Leo.

Quartz is a crystal associated with enhancing your energies. It is also said to be a master healer. There are many varieties of quartz including (but not limited to) Amethyst, Cherry Quartz, Citrine, Crystal Quartz, Lemon Quartz, Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Snow Quartz and Strawberry Quartz. Rainbow Moonstone (Blue Moonstone or White Labradorite) is one of the birthstones for June and is linked to the zodiac signs Cancer and Gemini. Whilst Rainbow Moonstone it is not strictly a moonstone it is similar enough that it has been industry accepted as one. Rainbow Moonstone has a strong feminine energy and is said to protect you from negative energy. It is said to be beneficial for longevity, hormonal and reproductive health. It is said to promote self love, compassion and inner peace and help comfort during times of grief.

Rhodonite is linked to the zodiac signs of Sagittarius, Taurus and Leo and the heart chakra. Rhodonite is said to be a stone connected with compassion, emotional balance and true love. It clears away emotional wounds and scars from the past and nurtures love. It may help those suffering with anxiety, depression, and ptsd. Rhodochrosite is connected with the zodiac signs of Leo a Sagittarius and the heart chakra. It is said to stimulate love and passion while energising the soul, opening the heart and drawing in positivity. It is also said to help improve self worth and soothe emotional stress by balancing emotions and promoting understanding. Rhodochrosite is also said to help with creativity.

Rose Quartz is perhaps one of the most well known stones associated with love. It is said to possess many metaphysical benefits that include the ability to expand heart energy, call in one’s soul mate, aid self esteem and foster love between partners. This gentle loving stone is also said to attract compassion, peace, tenderness, healing and comfort. Rose Quartz is the stone of universal love, promoting love at all levels. It is said to attract compassion, peace, tenderness, healing and comfort. It is also said to be connected to reproductive health. Associated with the zodiac sign of Taurus and the heart chakra. Varieties include Rose and Madagascar Rose Quartz. I have both.

Ruby is the traditional birthstone for July and Leo. It is also said to be very beneficial for those born under the zodiac signs of Aries, Scorpio, Cancer and Sagittarius. Ruby is thought to attract abundance, wealth, passion and vitality as well as promote love and nurturing. It is a stone of protection and knowledge. It is thought to improve energy levels, concentration and creativity. Ruby is a stone of loyalty, honour and compassion. The ruby I stock tends to be on the pink side.

Sapphire is the traditional birthstone for September. Sapphire represents wisdom (sometimes called the Wisdom Stone), virtue, loyalty and good fortune. In addition they are said to help with depression, warding off negative energy and helping with mental clarity. Metaphysically, Sapphires restore balance within the body, mind and spirit and are also said to attract prosperity. There are many varieties of Sapphire the most commonly known is the dark blue variety. There are many more colours available. I carry several including Dark Blue, Green, Montana (grey/pale blue), Pink, Purple, and Yellow.

Blue Sapphires are the most common and are said to be the best for calming nerves and bringing peace of mind. They are said to help with communication and soothe anger.

Green Sapphires are said to bring vision, serenity, peace of mind and concentration. They sometimes called the stone of fidelity and are said to enhance compassion

Pink Sapphires are said to help with emotional healing, improve relationships, and promote a sense of peace and tranquility. They promote love, kindness, and emotional healing, as well as enhance intuition and spiritual awareness.

Purple Sapphires are said to be stones of prosperity; attracting abundance and encouraging you to open your mind to the beauty and wonder that surrounds you.

Yellow Sapphires are connected to good health and well-being.

Sardonyx stones are said to be protective and give strength. They are said to encourage courage, happiness and good communication. Connected to Aries and Leo zodiac signs, Sardonyx is said to heighten awareness and enhance focus and intuition. Sardonyx was worn in Ancient Egypt as Cameos and in Ancient Roman times in jewellery with etchings of Venus (Goddess of Love) and Mars (God of War). It is thought they believed Sardonyx symbolised love, protection and courage. Metaphysically it is said to help with protection, empowerment, self-confidence and creativity. It is also said to help with mental clarity and memory.

Selenite is known for its ability to promote a sense of calm and tranquility. It is often used for meditation and spiritual work and is believed to help with emotional healing and clearing negative energy. Selenite is often used as a cleansing stone for other crystals. I carry a small amount of Selenite for bracelets - but do warn customers that it is very sensitive to water so must not come into contact with it or the beads will deteriorate quickly.

Shattuckite (Chrysocolla) is said to attract courage and inner strength when facing a stressful situation. It may sharpen intuition and boost concentration and help clarify understanding.

Smoky Quartz is a grounding stone that may help to disperse fear and negativity. It can bring emotional calmness, relieve stress and anxiety and promote positive thoughts. It is also thought to deepen our connection to the natural world.

Sodalite is associated with the zodiac sign of Sagittarius and the throat chakra. Some say it helps with phobias and panic attacks by clearing mental confusion and increasing rational and logic thought. Sodalite is a protective stone that is closely connected to dreams and the spiritual realm. It may also help balance your emotions and build your self confidence. I carry a few different kinds of Sodalite - all with a dark blue base and one with a splash of orange as well.

Snow Quartz (Milky Quartz) is linked with the zodiac sign of Capricorn and the crown chakra. It possesses all the healing properties of Quartz but like its namesake is thought to represent new beginnings.

Spinel is a stone said to help heal emotional wounds, providing encouragement, stamina and rejuvenation. It is connected to several zodiac signs including Aries, Taurus and Sagittarius (depends on colour). It comes in many colours. Currently I offer Spinel in black only.

Sunstone is thought to be a stone of abundance and good luck. It is said to encourage independence, originality and leadership. It reflects the qualities of light, encouraging openness, warmth and strength. Wear it to feel alive and full of enthusiasm. Sunstone is connected with Leo and Libra zodiacs and the sacral and solar plexus chakras.

Tanzanite is one of the birthstones for December. Associated with Sagittarius and December, Tanzanite is said to have a calming effect. Tanzanite represents transformation, introspection, wisdom and truth. Tanzanite is said to help transform negative thoughts into positive ones. It represents also inspires introspection, wisdom and truth.

Thulite (Rosaline) is connected to the zodiac signs of Taurus and Gemini. Thulite is said to be linked to love and regeneration. Metaphysically, this pretty pinky red stone is said to provide support to those in any sort of emotional pain, especially those nursing a broken heart, emanating an ethereal hug of sorts. Thulite is said to radiate love, compassion, happiness, joy and serenity. It is also said to provide support to those trying to break destructive habits by aiding them to build strength and move on from the errors of the past. It is a strong healing stone, also known to improve concentration, balance and coordination.

Tigers Eye is linked with the zodiac signs of Leo and Capricorn. It is strong grounding stone that is believed to be protective against negativity. (Romans used Tigers Eye to protect themselves in battle). It is a stone of manifestation that can help you focus on your goals and heighten your creativity, increase perception and bring balance. Topaz is a stone associated with the zodiac signs Aries Leo, Sagittarius and Scorpio. Topaz comes in different colours. Topaz is named is a birthstone for November. The stone is said to represent honesty, loyalty, and friendship. Metaphysically Topaz is also said to enhance mental clarity and promote creativity. Topaz is believed to be a protective stone, shielding its wearer from harm while also attracting good luck and fortune. I carry blue Topaz.

Blue Topaz is said to help with creative self-expression, imagination, and communication. It also brings a sense of serenity that aids in emotional stability and spiritual development.

Pink Topaz crystals are believed to help with emotional healing, promote self-love and self-acceptance, and attract love and abundance. They are also said to enhance emotional healing and balance, promote forgiveness and understanding, and attract love and abundance.

Yellow Topaz are said to encourage energy and clarity. It is also said to help with manifestation, emotional balance, creativity, and wisdom.

Tourmaline is one of the birthstones for October & Libra. Tourmaline represents reconciliation, compassion, healing and friendship. Tourmaline comes in a range of colours and each colour is associated with different things.

Rainbow Tourmaline helps ease anxiety and stress

Pink encourages love, compassion, calm and self-confidence.

Orange/Yellow purifies the mind, body and soul and encourages inventiveness and creativity.

Green rejuvenates and revitalises.

Blue a crystal of spirit and peace, releasing emotional bonds it allows higher consciousness and meditation.

Purple offers a serene energy. It grounds and protects you, as well as helping you deeply relax.

Rubelite (Deep Pink/Red) is said to encourage compassion, gentleness, calm and love.

White promotes happiness and inspiration and reduces fear.

Black is beneficial for stress management, dispelling negativity. It has been thought to help those with a broken heart and in friendships. It also offers grounding and protection.

Tree Agate is associated the heart chakra and the earth element. It is a birthstone for August and September and is linked with the zodiac sign of Virgo. It is said be beneficial for feelings of security, perseverance and concentration. It also brings a sense of peace and inner tranquility and may promote restful sleep and reduce stress and anxiety. It is said to stimulate creativity. Like many other green stones it is associated wth female health and longevity.

Turquoise is one of the birthstones for July and also December. Turquoise represents wisdom, tranquility, protection, good fortune, and hope. Turquoise is a birthstone for both July and December and is associated with the zodiac signs Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces. It is a stone that promotes love and compassion and is said connect the earth and heaven. It is a protective stone that is said to ‘protect agains the evil eye’ has be revered by many cultures throughout time including the Aztecs, Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Greeks and Romans and more recently the Chinese and Native Americans. It is a stone of good fortune, friendship, loyalty and peace. To find out more about Turquoise and its history I suggest further research.

WARNING: American Turquoise experienced huge popularity in the world during the 20th century. The few mines that now remain in the US produce considerably less Turquoise and the mines are heavily policed and controlled. The result of this is that American Turquoise is quite rare (in bead form) and very expensive. Whilst I have a little bit of American Turquoise, the vast majority of my Turquoise now comes from Hubei province in China. It is genuine and undyed. Cheaper Turquoise you may find online is often naturally white and dyed to achieve the trademark blue . This can be sold as genuine Turquoise, but please be aware it is often dyed. In other cases cheaper stones Howlite and Magnesite are dyed and masqueraded by sellers as (the more expensive) Turquoise. If this is the case it should be sold under the name Turquoise Howlite/Magnesite - but sadly in many cases it is not. Whether this is because the seller does so knowingly or unknowingly depends on the situation. The relatively lower price should be an indicator of whether it is in fact genuine Turquoise or the significantly cheaper Magnesite and Howlite . I have encountered many people that were under the belief that they owned the real deal but in fact were wearing something else. Please be aware price is definitely an indicator of whether Turquoise is truly authentic. Most genuine Turquoise (particularly American) is named after a mine or an area. Sometimes a stone is called a Turquoise because it resembles the precious stone … e.g. African Turquoise and Peru Turquoise, which while are both natural stones, are in fact a Jasper and Chrysocolla, named as a Turquoise because of their colour, not their mineral composition.

Variscite: Whilst not an official birthstone Variscite is associated with the zodiac signs of Gemini, Scorpio and Taurus. Variscite is a soothing stone that is said to help with perception and the communication of ideas. Variscite is often associated with empathy and moral courage, but also self reliance and expression. It is said to be a grounding stone that may attract wealth and amplify joy.

Yellow Opal is associated with the zodiac sign of Libra and the solar plexus chakra. It is a stone that is said to offer comfort, balance and stability. It may be useful in manifesting and is said to be a catalyst in attracting positive thinking and enthusiasm, good fortune and an invigorating energy.

Zircon is associated with the zodiac sign of Sagittarius and one of the birthstones for December, It is associated with different chakras, depending on the colour of the stone. Zircon is said to be a protective stone that can be helpful clearing away negative energy. It may benefit those suffering from loss or grief and also those that are feeling jealous or negative. Zircon is said to help overcome prejudice and instil a feeling of unity. It is also said to encourage clarity of thought. Different colours of Zircon are said to be associated with different things. Blue is believed to be helpful with relationships and self-confidence, pink is said to attract romance and love. Golden is said to inspire and motivate and also attract prosperity. I carry Golden Zircon.

Zirconia is a manmade variety of Zircon and comes in many sparkly colours. I have many colours in this stone that is said to carry the same (all be it very diluted) healing properties of Zircon.
